We identify successful local projects and we replicate them to other countries by building capacity in receiving organizations. We also experiment by co-creating cross-border tech solutions that can aid activists around the region.
Fact-checking initiatives has spread in Western Balkans thanks to the ActionSEE network collaborations. TransparenCEE has supported most recent of this replications - implementing Faktograf fact-checking initiative in Croatia.

The data and analysis presented on this platform are a result of joint research endeavours of organisations from Albania, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, and Ukraine. Public Procurements Indicators Toolbox is a website facilitating cooperation between tech-savvy watchdogs working in the field of public procurement monitoring, as well as targeting those activists who would like to launch such projects to foster civic control over public spending in their country. The website contains 100+ risk indicators collected from different projects in the region and aims to serve as a stepping stone for developers, resource for academics, and a positive example of data sharing under Creative Commons for the activists in the field.
European Union hasn’t yet introduced international standard in data publication regarding public procurements. TenderBase resolves this problem republishing public procurements data in real time in an international Open Contracting Data Standard. Data is gathered for 9 new EU member states and plans exists to cover non-EU countries as well as under the EU threshold procurements.
Javna Rasprava is a platform devoted to engage citizens in the debate around public issues. Editorial team summarizes legislation being proceeded in the parliament in a concise manner. Citizens are given option to express their stance by voting for or against the bills or their most important policies, or to inquire more asking politicians for their opinions. A ranking of politicians who answered the most questions is presented to encourage the positive involvement.
The Red Flags project supports the fight against corrupt procurements by monitoring procurement processes and highlighting fraud risks at different stages of the procurement process. Although risky does not mean corrupt, flagged procurement documents can be further checked by public officials in control agencies, journalists and citizens.
